Peace and Justice

Director of Peace and Justice Ministry:
Deacon Mike Mocek mmocek@holyfamilyfw.org

Catholic Social Teaching is a central and essential element of our faith. It is based on and inseparable from our understanding of human life and human dignity. Catholic Social Teaching is built on a commitment to the poor and vulnerable. It calls us all to reach out and to build relationships of compassion and justice. It calls us all to defend the dignity of life and build the common good.

To learn more about Catholic Social Teaching or the Peace and Justice Committee, please contact Deacon Mike Mocek.

Let’s Be Faithful Citizens

The 82nd Texas Legislature will soon be in session. Bills are already being filed. Many of these bills could have profound impacts on issues of life, immigration, education, health and human services, and criminal justice. The Texas Catholic Conference, the official public policy voice of the bishops of Texas, tracks these bills and publishes easy-to-use summaries of all bills that they support or oppose. You can find this information at www.txcatholic.org. Click the button, “Legislative Bill Reports.” Then contact your senator and representative and let them hear your voice of Faithful Citizenship. For more information, contact Deacon Mike at the Pastoral Center or at mmocek@holyfamilyfw.org.
